DESCRIPTION:Calling all Seniors, Ambassadors, and Adults for this World of Outdoor Survival (WOODS) Series! \n  \n  \n WOODS 1: Emergency Preparedness &amp; Bug-Out Bags (5/7) \n  \n  \n  \n  \n Could you survive a night in the wild?  \n  \n  \n Start building your emergency kit and learn the basics of survival in this hands-on session. We&rsquo;ll explore the 10 essentials for survival, discuss when to bug out versus sheltering in place, and guide you through assembling your own bug-out bag. Put your quick-thinking skills to the test with an emergency scenario game, learning how to respond effectively in a crisis. \n  \n  \n WOODS 2: Shelter Building &amp; Fire Starting (5/21) \n  \n  \n If you had to build a shelter from scratch, could you?  \n  \n  \n Learn how to stay warm, dry, and safe in any emergency! In this session, we&rsquo;ll explore the Rule of Threes, discuss how to choose the best shelter location, and practice essential fire-starting techniques. You&rsquo;ll get hands-on experience building emergency shelters and testing different methods for starting a fire. \n  \n  \n WOODS 3: Water &amp; Food Survival (6/4) \n  \n  \n Essential for survival: knowing how to find, purify, and store water.  \n  \n  \n In this session, we&rsquo;ll cover safe vs. unsafe water sources, various purification methods, and teach you how to build a DIY water filter. Plus, we&rsquo;ll touch on basic foraging skills and give you a taste of freeze-dried emergency food. \n  \n  \n WOODS 4: First Aid &amp; Medical Preparedness (6/18) \n  \n  \n Be ready to handle injuries in any survival situation!  \n  \n  \n In this session, we&rsquo;ll cover the top five survival injuries and how to treat them, including stopping bleeding, handling shock, and treating burns. You&#39;ll assemble a mini first-aid kit, practice bandaging and splinting, and put your skills to the test in a First-Aid Relay. \n  \n  \n WOODS 5: Self-Defense &amp; Situational Awareness (7/2) \n  \n  \n Learn how to stay aware, stay safe, and protect yourself in any situation!  \n  \n  \n In this session, we&rsquo;ll develop your situational awareness skills, teach you how to handle aggressive encounters, and practice basic self-defense moves. You&rsquo;ll also have the chance to learn from a guest instructor and participate in a real-life Urban Survival Challenge to test your skills. \n  \n  \n WOODS 6: Radio Communication for Survival (7/16) \n  \n  \n Learn how to communicate in an emergency when modern technology fails.  \n  \n  \n In this session, we&rsquo;ll teach you about different types of radios, emergency call signs, and radio etiquette. You&#39;ll get hands-on experience operating two-way radios and put your skills to the test in a fun Radio Relay Challenge. This is a crucial survival skill for staying connected when it matters most! \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Please note that this series is for Seniors, Ambassadors, and Adults ONLY.   \n
