Troops are invited to come on down to explore the Living Coast Discovery Center!
Daisies, Brownies and Juniors will earn badges based on their rank. Each scout will receive a Living Coast Discovery fun patch and off site kids meal voucher after the event for Raising Cane's, approx. 8 miles away from the Discovery Center. This is also a great opportunity to make and bring swaps to share! We can't wait to see how creative your troop will be!

Daisies will earn Clovers Story!
Buzz, buzz, buzz! Bees take Clover and her friends on an amazing journey learning how they can use resources wisely! Scouts will learn the many ways they can make little changes that have big impacts, such as recycling food or carpooling. Through a craft, trail walk, and an encounter with an animal ambassador, scouts will learn it’s cool to conserve by using resources wisely!

Brownies will earn Bugs Journey!
Bugs come in all shapes and sizes! We will talk to experts, go on bug hunts, see what our new friends like to eat, and even who likes to eat them! Complete with up close and personal animal encounters. Girls scouts will learn how the tiniest creatures can help us in the biggest ways and even create a bug model to take home and inspire others!

Juniors will earn Animal Habitats!
Have you ever met a Red Tailed Hawk or come face to face with a Green Sea turtle? Come meet the animals that call southern California habitats home! We will explore their adaptations to survive, what they eat, how they move, and even participate in a special activity to help keep their home clean. Through live animal encounters, trail hikes, and special animal feeding, your scouts will become environmental ambassadors and help spread the word!

Scouts will be in assigned to a group based on their rank with Cadette and Senior scouts along with a troop leader/helper to ensure we keep within ratios as we are guided throughout the day.

All adventures start promptly at 10:30 am. You may check in at 10:00 am.
Each group will engage in a 1.5 hour interactive program, 1 animal encounter and badge specific activities! Once you are done with that part of the program you and your troop are encouraged to explore all areas of the Discovery Center until 4:30 pm when the last shuttle leaves.

The parking lot is located just past the traffic circle at Gunpowder Point Drive. You can see our building from the parking lot! After you park in the lot, our shuttle (which runs on a loop) will pick you up. The shuttle does its first pick-up at 10:00 AM and its last pick-up at 4:30 PM. The last shuttle from the center to the parking lot is at 5:00 PM.
