GSSGC is thrilled to announce that we have been invited to partner with Cal State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) to present GenCyber 2016. CSUSB received grant funding from the National Security Agency to support this day camp.  We are again able to offer this opportunity free of charge thanks to this funding. GenCyber 2016 will be held June 20-June 24 at CSUSB from 8:30am to 4:00pm. GenCyber is designed for girls currently enrolled in 6th-8th grade. Girls will be learning CyberSecurity concepts from leading experts in the field of Cyber Security. The girls will meet mentors, gain experience with drones and computers, participate in the challenge course, and many other hands-on activities.

FAQs

What are my transportion/parking options getting to the event?

We will have designated drop off and pick up locations throughout our council area. We anticipate these to be at our council offices but the locations may be adjusted based on registrations. Additional points may be added in area with high registration. Girls will not be dropped off at CSUSB this year due to construction in the CSUSB parking area. Your drop off location and time will be confirmed once registration closes. Estimated drop off times will be 7:00am and pick up times will be 5:00pm.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Please do not bring valuables to the day camp with you. Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council, Cal State San Bernardino and our additional partners will not be responsible for lost or damaged items. Girls should bring a water bottle and come prepared with sunscreen each day. Closed toed shoes are required.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

No. If your girl is not able to attend, please contact craleigh@gssgc.org as soon as possible. We anticipate a lengthy waiting list for this day camp and would like to give as many waiting list girls the chance to participate as possible. You may not make a change to the registration after it has been submitted. We will release open spots to the next names on the wait list.

Do I have to wear the provided GenCyber T-shirt every day of the Day Camp?

Yes, the GenCyber shirts allow for easy identification of girls on the public college campus. This is part of the safety procedures involved in running a day camp on a college campus.

Cancellation Policy
Please notify craleigh@gssgc.org as soon as possible if you need to cancel your registration. Under the NSA grant that is funding this program, GSSGC has agreed to have 250 girls participate in this program. If you can not attend, we will give your space to one of the girls on the wait list. Participants that do not attend all 5 days, compromise the GSSGC grant requirements and may not be eligible to participate in future GSSGC grant funded programs.
